The 4X4 Club

There has long been a demand for a fun 4X4 Club in Kenya. With this in mind, we have recently launched such an organization for all the family to enjoy.

One of our aims is to reach people in need, hope to enjoy their 4X4 with safety and confidence in off road conditions. So many owners are nervous to use their cars off-road, mainly because they have not been shown how to use the many features of an off-road vehicle has!

There has long been a demand for a “fun 4×4” club in Kenya. With this in mind,we recently launched such an organization for all the family to enjoy. One of our aims is to teach people in need, how to enjoy their 4×4 with safety & confidence in off-road conditions. So many owners are nervous to use their cars off-road,mainly because they have not been shown how to use the many features an off-road vehicle has.Because of this they never really get the fun out of the vehicle they bought & thus miss out on so much.If you are an experienced “off-road” driver, you are welcome to assist in teaching others or just come along & enjoy!I know many people who have never used nor known what a “low range” gearbox is for!

Anyone can successfully drive off-road by simply following basic guidelines & using common sense. Once the basics have been learnt, all it takes is practice. We invite anyone with a 4×4 (any make) to come & join us.

We try to  hold regular get togethers to plan what people would like to do,where to go & what to see by having weekend outings every few weeks. Various experienced “guides” will be used to lead us to many varied regions in Kenya. For example, there may be a group who would like to explore Magadi, well,I know the region well & would lead that expedition. On another occasion,a number of people may like to go camping in the Mara, then someone like Mike Duder may be used to lead us.

By traveling as a group,it is far safer to explore remote areas of this beautiful country than going alone, which you probably would never do anyway. We will be arranging “off-road” driver instruction courses at a quarry near Athi River to give those in need, confidence when driving in difficult terrain. Glen Edmund’s,an expert trainer, has kindly agreed to assist in this.

Also being a “dinner club”,the venue for the above meeting will vary & members will be advised by e-mail of the venue.
As a group we often enjoy special prices & a variety of the various eating establishments that Nairobi has to offer.
