17 March, at 20:50hrs, a man reported an armed carjacking as the guard opened the gate to let the him out of the compound. Investigations revealed that four armed men posing as ordinary unsuspecting passersbys on foot, along General Mathenge Road (Westlands area), entered the compound as the guard opened the gate for the resident to leave. They ordered the guard to surrender at gun point and proceeded to the resident’s car that was about to drive out of the compound and ordered him out. They took control of the car, a Toyota Premio silver in colour, and drove out with a lady who was still in the vehicle. While on General Mathenge Road, Police who had been notified of the carjacking, engaged the thugs in a shoot out. However, they escaped on foot towards Peponi road with nothing being stolen from the victims. No injuries were reported during the incident.

A grey Toyota Premio registration number KBM 610F, closely followed the man into the gate before it was fully closed. Four young men, two armed with AK 47 assault rifles, accosted the guard and ordered him to surrender. As one kept watch over the guard, three of the thugs followed the man to the parking area at gunpoint and ordered him into his house. They ransacked the house for about one and half hours reportedly stealing about Kshs 200,000 in cash, 200 US dollars, and assorted jewellery before escaping in the man’s car, a Toyota Prado. The thugs left behind the Toyota Premio with a woman occupant, who turned out to be the owner of the car. She recounted how she had been carjacked at about 19:00,hrs in Buru Buru and driven around town, before they picked on the Toyota Prado along Argwings Kodhek. No injuries were reported.
15 March, at approximately 09:40 hours, a man was followed on Peponi Road (Springvalley area) by a white Toyota saloon car Reg. KAZ 450L, which had five (5) occupants. The vehicle managed to enter the compound when the man opened the gate. Four occupants of the second vehicle came out armed and ordered the man to surrender. They ransacked his car before taking away his jacket in a hurry thinking, that it had some cash, and drove off towards Lower Kabete. The man was not injured and he confirmed that the jacket had nothing inside.
